                    2011-2012 Tuition and Fees

                    • The Master of Divinity is typically a 3-year degree, requiring 90 semester hours for completion (total cost – $9,000).
                    • The Lay Leadership Certification is typically a 1-year advanced certificate, requiring 18 semester hours for completion (total cost – $525).
                    • The Certificate in Franciscan Studies is a typically 1-year advanced certificate, requiring 15 semester hours for completion (approximate cost – $500)
                    • Saint John the Beloved Summer Session is an intensive week of guided coursework on-site at the St. Francis Retreat Center in Easton, PA.  Franciscan Spirituality courses as well as all Sacramental Practicum coursework are offered at this time.  The cost of this concentrated, intensive week of study includes private accommodations, all meals and snacks, guided spiritual direction, SJTB tuition and supplemental course materials.  Students are required to purchase and bring their own required texts for this week as described in each course syllabus.  Total cost for Summer Session is $600 plus $50 registration fee which provides the student with registration for 6 courses (15 credits) for less than half of the enrollment cost if taken during the academic year.

                    Application Fee:  $50 non-refundable
                    Credit Hour: Master’s Tuition is $100 per course credit hour due at course registration; Most courses are 3 credit hours
                    Waived Course Fee:  If a course is waived due to transfer of credit or other reasons as determined and approved by the Rector, there is a $20 fee per course waived to cover administrative fees.

                    Book costs are estimated to be in the range of $35 – $100 per course.

                    Special tuition costs for seminarians of the American National Catholic Church.


                    Reduced tuition costs for partner jurisdiction seminarians.

                    St. John the Beloved does offer an Easy-Pay option breaking each course’s tuition into two monthly payments. There are no additional fees or hidden charges.

                    Tuition is paid on a course-by-course basis. Most courses are either 2 or 3 credit hours, depending upon the academic program. Visa, MasterCard, and Discover cards may be used to pay tuition. We offer an Easy-Pay method of splitting each term’s payment into two monthly payments. This allows you to pay a flat tuition rate on a month-by-month basis if you take a course every term.

                    Withdrawal Refund Policy:
                    If a student withdraws from class at his or her discretion, a portion of the class tuition may be refunded based on the following scale determined by the date of withdrawal:
                    • During Week 1 of course – 80% refunded
                    • During Week 2 of course – 60% refunded
                    • During Week 3 of course – 40% refunded
                    • During Week 4 of course – 20% refunded
                    • During Week 5 of after – no refund
